I wish i knew then what i know now. There's some certs you can get where you can still get a job with a pension and barely do
anything.

Any idea what those jobs are?

I would like to get one myself.

I don't know about UPS proper, but when I go deliver parcels to my local logistics agency, they are always up their necks in work. I rarely see anybody idling. Everybody is loading, unloading or classifying parcels.

well i worked at ups as a part time job in like 2017. it wasnt that bad but it was certainly a weird place to work at. you could only work part time and if you were there forever you could work 2 part time jobs and be full time. also the start time was different every day. the breaks were like 5 mins.

this is a loading position, not everyone at ups is a driver. it takes forever to be a driver. they have 100% covered insurance and will reimburse you for ANY schooling. they said even if it was basket weaving.

anyways, ups isnt that bad. being a ups driver isnt bad too.

With all the talk of cuts I hope its still there down the road.

I don't work at USPS. When I say my 'backup job' I mean it in a way like you, I've always wanted to apply. Right now I have a job. I work in IT but IT is always laying people off and sometimes it gets tiring to always have that worry every 6 to 9 months.

Long ago I was a regular in the FIDO Basic Echo.
Were You there too?

I haven't seen the Basic Echo listed anymore.
There were sure some members who wrote some very nice Basic Programs in that echo.

Years later got a DOS 5.0 system to use and could run Basic code that had Peek and Poke Commands in them.
